Today we went to watch the school production of Once Upon a Time. We went on two buses to watch the matinee performance. We were so excited because we had heard lots about it and seen a couple of dances. At last we were able to watch the whole thing with everyone on stage. We got to see the amazing costumes and dances that everyone did. We cant wait till we get to have our turn in the next production!

The Story of Chinese new Year
This week we have begun learning about Chinese New Year
and how this festival is celebrated. We have discussed some
facts we already know and have some questions that we want
to find out about.
Here is the story of Nian which explains some of the traditions
of Chinese New Year.

Totara Tahi Dance
Once again, we were really lucky to be able to watch Mrs
Brown's class do their amazing dance for us this afternoon.
We can't wait to see their colourful costumes too.

Kauri Toru Dance
We were so lucky today. Kauri Toru came to Rata and shared
their amazing dance with us that they will be doing for our School Production. They have been practising their dance so hard and they were fantastic. We can't wait to see them do their dance with their costumes on.

Birthdays Around the World
During our Inquiry Unit about Celebrations, we wanted to
find out how people celebrate birthdays around the world.
We have noticed that birthdays in New Zealand can be the
same as birthdays in other countries. But some things are done differently in other countries.
This is how children celebrate birthdays in Japan.
Here's how people celebrate birthdays in Germany.
How do you celebrate your birthday in New Zealand?
Post a message telling us how you celebrate your birthday!

Bubble Fun!
Today we had a fantastic time down on the bottom field...
blowing bubbles!
We used a bubble machine that blew lots and lots of
bubbles all around us.
We also had a bubble wand each and had heaps of
fun running around making the most amazing bubbles.
We came back to the classroom to write stories and poems
about our bubbles.

The bumble bee is climbing up the window for no reason. I wonder why it is doing that? I think it is getting warm in the sun.
