Today we were lucky enough to visit Harold in his
very special classroom again.
Harold was on a trip to outer space - but he forgot to
take his picnic basket with him. We got to have a look
at his picnic basket to see if he had packed a VARIETY
of food to eat.
Then we sorted all of his food for every meal of the day.

Harold's Picnic - Video Maker

Didn't Harold do a terrific job of packing a healthy
picnic basket?
He packed a VARIETY of food for every meal.
Tomorrow we are going to pack our very own
picnic baskets. We will have to make sure that we have a VARIETY of food in them.

We were so lucky today because we got to visit Harold the Giraffe and Bec in the Life Education Trust classroom.

Today we went to visit Harold  and we learnt about the Food Pyramid. We learnt about eating a VARIETY of food to keep us HEALTHY and give us ENERGY.

We also learnt that we all need to have a balanced diet. We need to eat LOTS of some foods like fruit and vegetables everyday. We should eat SOME of other foods like meat, fish, cheese and eggs everyday. But we should only have a LITTLE bit of foods that are treats. These foods have sneaky things in them like sugar, salt and fat.

Next we met TAM. We learnt about what happens to food when we eat. We could see the different parts of our bodies under our skin like our heart, lungs, stomach and brain. Can you see Dr Carter pointing to the different parts of our bodies? He was so clever!

Maddy came up to meet Harold and tell what we had all learnt. He even gave her a Harold cuddle. Harold thought we were all really clever. He even taught us a special rap:
"A variety is good for me.
It gives us lots of energy."

We think Harold is just way TOO COOL!!
We can't wait to visit him again tomorrow to learn more about keeping happy and healthy.

Today at school we had a visit from a music group called
Strike Percussion. They had lots of different drums and they were really loud. But we thought they were fantastic!
They even made music with fire...which was amazing.
